As Chico Community Ballet celebrates its 46th season, we invite local artist on a magical journey unlike any we have undertaken before.

For the first time since the creation of A Very Chico Nutcracker a decade ago, Chico Community Ballet is bringing an entirely original full-length ballet to the stage. Inspired by the beloved world of Oz, this enchanted production will transport audiences beyond the rainbow through breathtaking storytelling, unforgettable characters, and the artistry that has defined CCB for nearly half a century.

Featuring original scenic, lighting, and costume designs, The Land of Oz will transform the Laxson Auditorium stage into a dazzling world of wonder—from Munchkinland to the Emerald City to the mysterious forest and winding yellow brick road that lies between.

Directed by CCB alumna, Vanessa Kinney, this ambitious new production celebrates the creativity, imagination, and community spirit that have made Chico Community Ballet a treasured cultural institution of Chico. Be a part of ballet history as Chico Community Ballet unveils its newest original masterpiece. Rehearsals will begin in late-August.
